Elite Night Invitational Session Meet Entry Information for the

Meet of Champions Distance Classic– March 22, 2025

There are two Sessions each year in the Meet of Champions Distance Classic: the Open Day Session and the Elite Night Session. We are sorry to say that our “DAY” session is completely full—we will not be accepting any additional schools into the Day session; however, your school’s top athletes may qualify to be placed in the Elite Night Session of the meet based on their qualifying times run in 2025.

The 33nd annual Meet of Champions Distance Classic will be held this year on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Arroyo High School’s new stadium featuring the new “World Athletics Certified Surface” Beynon Track.

Moving to Arroyo High School’s new stadium and super-fast new Beynon track will provide several great opportunities for an even better Meet of Champions:

  • Completely new “World Athletics Certified Surface” Beynon Track

  • 9 lanes instead of 8 – providing for wider starting alleys

  • Coaches and Athletes will still be allowed to be on the infield of the track

  • “PR Alley”--Wide spectator area right next to the outside of track the entire length of the home stretch--combined with athletes and coaches on the inside of the track = “PR Alley”. At night, spectators will be allowed to move on to the outside lanes for even closer access!

  • New full stadium seating on both home and visitor sides of track

  • Grass areas outside of each turn for team camps

  • Great new sound system

  • Parking right next to stadium

  • Real bathrooms

  • Permanent Snack Bars + specialty food booths

  • New scoreboard

  • Large grass field for warm up immediately adjacent to track for warm-up

We will be awarding custom designed Meet of Champions medals for all races, and the winners of the invitational section 800, 1600, and 3200s at night will receive a pair of the hottest new super shoe—the Hi-Racer KM3—that will become available to the public for the first time later this year.

The evening invitational 800, 1600 and 3200s will be run from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM and will feature the top two to four heats in all three divisions in the 800, 1600 and 3200. This night “Invitational & Rated” section of the meet will be open to all individuals who qualify.

In that night section of the meet, we will run the full mile distance in the varsity races, but we will also have a finish camera at the 1600 meter mark to record official 1600 meter times.

These are the automatic qualifying marks that will guarantee your athlete is placed in the nighttime Invitational section of the meet. If you have additional information such as 2024 cross country results, 2025 indoor, or Winter Championships results that you feel may be helpful in seeding, please feel free to email me at any time  ( torourke04@yahoo.com ) .
